Baby Haul

I wanted to share with you all a few of the baby purchases I have made so far. I’ve decided it’s better to buy slowly instead of all in one go and at the last minute. So whenever there’s a sale, discount event or coupon I receive I head down to the shops with my card ready to go.

On Saturday we woke up early and headed off to a NCT Nearly New Sale. This is where parents can sell items that they’ve used a couple of times and don’t need anymore. I honestly was so impressed with the quality of items and for such bargain prices! There’s another one in February in my area and I will of course be attending to see what other bargains I can snap up.

Here’s a massive pile of onsies, tops, leggings, blankets etc I bought on the day which all came to a grand total of around £25! As we don’t know the sex of the baby we stuck to whites, greys and even a few blue colours.

I also snapped up one of those baby bjorn baby carriers for £20, which usually retails for around £64 and upwards.

Some other little fun purchases..

I really like the Jelly Cat brand their bunnies and soft toys are great quality and I love the feel of them! The second photo includes some swaddle blankets from Aden + Anais and Sophie the Giraffe, which I mentioned in my previous post were musts for any baby! I picked the above baby items at a department store discount event where everything was 20% off.

Next is quite a big purchase and something we looked into a lot, we read reviews, watched YouTube videos and then made our decision to go with this brand of bottles. I want to breastfeed my baby at the start but it’ll be nice for Freddie to feed his baby too, so it was a must to have bottles at the ready for when baby arrives.

We went for the Tommee Tippee, Closer to Nature Essential Starter Kit. We did pretty well with this in terms of price, it was £139.99, then down to £69.99 we then purchased the starter kit when Babie’s r Us were having a 20% off event so we snatched it up for around £54 including delivery. Pretty happy with that!
The starter kit includes;

  • 1 x electric steriliser
  • 1 x electric bottle warmer
  • 2 x insulted bottle bags
  • 4x 260ml bottles
  • 4x 150ml bottles
  • 1x bottle brush
  • 6x milk powder dispensers
  • 2x medium flow teats
  • 1x pure soother
  • 1x teat tongs
I haven’t opened the box yet and tried and tested everything because I’ll only get it set up closer to the time. I will definitely plan to review the bottles/steriliser when the baby arrives.
So that’s it in,  I’m sure after Christmas I would have stocked up a bit more but for now at this stage in my pregnancy I’m okay with what I have. We already know which pram we are going for and will be putting that on order soon 🙂 Cannot wait, stay tuned for that!
