Cow & Gate First Taste Pouches

When Max and I first started our weaning journey I couldn’t wait to fill the freezer full of homemade yummy puree’s. I purchased all the ingredients and got cooking, I was then quickly disheartened when he didn’t take to my own cooking! What a waste of money! Looking back I should have purchased first taste pouches like these ones from Cow & Gate.

Starting with single vegetable tastes, then building up to different flavours and textures is a great way to get your baby used to weaning, it helps encourage early acceptance of vegetables too which can be such a struggle as babies tend to prefer sweeter foods. The earlier and frequently you expose your little one to vegetables the more they’ll accept them. These pouches are steam cooked and contain no nasties or hidden fruits which make for the perfect early weaning purees, there also gluten free! The range have fun veggie characters including Claire Carrot, Chris Cauliflower, Bella Broccoli and Peter Pea. The friends vegetable pouches are re sealable with no added salt, sugar, additives or preservatives.
Next time round for baby number two, I’ll be bulk buying this bad boys and stocking my freezer. Not only is it cost effective but there’s no wastage too.
Would you give these pouches a go for early weaning?

We were given loads of these. I'm not sure how I feel about pouches but I think they could be useful in the early stages where she'll only be eating a couple of spoonfuls. What age did you start weaning Max?x
