Boots Haul: Skincare + Haircare

Having read Lily Pebbles My Skin Analysis & New Routine blog post she inspired me to switch up my skincare routine. I’ve been in a skincare rut at the moment and most of the products I’ve been using are just not up to scratch. There’s so many new products out there with new and exciting ingredients to help combat wrinkles, fine lines and help give your skin that overall youthful glow that I’m in desperate need of. I’m on the wrong side of my twenties and it’s time I really started looking after my aging skin. So with that in mind I popped into my local Boots armed with a skincare shopping list.
Here’s what I bought..

La Roche Posay Redermic C10 Moisturiser combines pure vitamin C, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. It leaves your skin looking plump, reduces the look of wrinkles, reinforces skin firmness, evens out the complexion and leaves your skin glowing. I’m yet to give this a try but before buying I had read some really good reviews online. I love anything that has hyaluronic acid in it as I’ve used a couple of products in the past that have worked wonders on my skin.

La Roche Posay Redermic R Anti-Wrinkle Treatment has the golden ingredient, retinol which is widely known by dermatologists as one of the most effective solutions against visible signs of aging. I’ve heard that this product can be quite harsh at first on your skin. So at the moment I’ve been using this sparingly and just once a week. I apply this as part of my evening skincare routine and in the morning I have noticed a real difference in the overall look and feel of my skin. I’m so impressed!

La Roche Posay Anthelios Comfort Sun Cream. I spend most of my time out and about with the kids so I need a very high SPF. This facial sunscreen has a SPF of 50 which is fab! It’s highly moisturising and luxurious without leaving that horrible sticky/greasy feeling you get with some suncare. I use this to finish off my morning skincare routine.

Avene Physiolift Eyes smooths wrinkles and firms the delicate skin around the eyes. It eases puffiness and those dreaded dark circles. I’m terrible at remembering to apply eye cream but as a mum it’s actually even more important now than ever, especially as I can’t remember the last time I had a full nights sleep! I feel like your eye area can be the first telltale sign of aging. So I’m literally going to slather this stuff on!

Eau Thermal Avene Water Spray. I actually got this as a free gift for buying the above eye cream, score! I do love a thermal spray especially during the hot summer months. It can be used for all sorts, from sunburn to nappy rash. So it’s fab to keep handy in the changing bag.

Lastly a trip to Boots wouldn’t be complete without a random splurge on stuff you don’t really need but want. Boots have a good way of showcasing new products. there always right as you walk in and on a massive display. I couldn’t help but have a look and I’m so glad I did! L’Oréal have just released their new Botanticals range which is free from silicones, parabens and colourants. The gorgeous packaging is even made from 100% recycled materials. The range I went for was for dry hair as unfortunately with all the styling and straightening I’ve done over the years my hair has taken a battering. The botanicals safflower rich infusion range consists of 3 oils safflower, soya and coconut. Which provides a nourishing formula and restores softness to dry and brittle hair. I can’t wait until its hair wash day to try these products out, I’ll definitely report back to you with my thoughts.

If you’re interested in any of the above products. Boots are running so many promotions at the moment, including 25% off La Roche Posay products, free beachball when you buy any suncare and a free Avene Thermal Spray when you spend over £20 on any Avene skincare products. Go go go!

I am the same as you. I am using the basic things. I could do with up my game really because my skin is really dry and I don’t take care as much as I should.
