To celebrate spring I was recently invited to The Ivy Cafe in Richmond to enjoy their limited-edition Ladybird Afternoon Tea. It is inspired by the borough’s green open spaces and natural parks – Richmond Park and Kew Gardens being just the two.
The Ladybird Afternoon Tea launches in line with the polka dot bugs most active season following a winter of hibernation. The Ivy Cafe is hoping to spread awareness of the British species amongst local residents.
You can tantalise your taste buds with truffled chicken brioche roll, marinated cucumber and dill finger sandwiches, smoked salmon on dark rye style bread with cream cheese and chives. A selection of sweet treats are also available including warm fruited scones with Dorset clotted cream and strawberry preserve, chocolate and salted caramel mousse and Crème brûlée doughnut – as well as the Ivy Nursey Pot with an indulgent chocolate soil topped with lavender cream and ladybird-shaped chocolate treats, providing the ultimate spring time afternoon tea.
The Ladybird Afternoon Tea is available from 4th March to Sunday 28th April 3-5pm and is offered from £18.95. You can add a glass of champagne which will then cost £26.50 per person.
Whether looking for a special Mother’s Day treat this March or planning an Easter catch up with friends and family, the limited-edition Ladybird Afternoon Tea is the perfect offering to celebrate the spring at The Ivy Café, Richmond.
